Promoting the ECIA Charter

Promotion of the ECIA Charter of Interior Architecture Training, as a tool to work towards a higher standard for Interior Architects/Designers education (and consequently the profession) in the EU. This includes also the organisation of a Charter Networking Conference (in collaboration with Subprojects 3 and 6)

The ECIA Charter on Interior Architecture training was recently (2020) updated. The aims and objectives of the 2020 ECIA Charter of Interior Architecture Training are to define the training (knowledge, skills and attitudes) necessary for a qualified practitioner to fully understand the concept of spatial researcher and engage in the practice with a scientific, humanistic and academic (studying) approach to the discipline.

The Charter 2020 will be promoted as a tool to work towards a higher standard for Interior Architects education (and consequently the profession) in the EU in the future and to encourage more universities within the EU to establish PhDs in Interior Architecture. With the data from Subproject 1- Spider Models Research we will be able to set up a WG to promote the Charter of Interior Architecture education as a tool to work towards a higher standard for Interior Architects in the EU in the future and to encourage more universities within the EU to establish PhDs in Interior Architecture. We will communicate on the Charter, to inform educators/universities, policy makers and regulators about the Charter and what the profession itself is about.
