Daniel Hopwood

Owner Studio Hopwood Ltd

Daniel Hopwood established his own design studio over 27 years ago. Based in London the studio specialises in residential and commercial design around the world. His work is frequently published in the British press. Daniel has a degree in Architecture and is an alumni of the Prince of Wales Institute of Architecture. He is a registered interior designer with the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID), where he was president for two years and advocated to improve professionalism in the design world. He is a liveryman of The Furniture Makers’ Company and chairs the Bespoke Guild Mark committee. As a visiting tutor to design schools, he also encourages and mentors young designers in the industry. He has worked on several series with the BBC and Channel 4 which have been televised worldwide.

Tatu Ahlroos

Founder & CEO TCD-Taking care of design, President IFI

Tatu Ahlroos is a Finnish interior architect with deep knowledge of our physical surroundings. He earned his master's degree from Aalto University and has over 20 years of experience in the architecture and design sector, exploring new and questioning old principles with open eyes and, in practice, by using service design methods and modern BIM-processes. In 2008, he founded his own company, TCD - Taking Care of Design, working with retail, hospitality, private and design related projects. He has appeared as a designer in television productions and been a speaker in furniture fairs internationally and written frequently to local architectural publications. Tatu has also played an active role in professional organizations. He served as President of Sisustusarkkitehdit SIO, the Finnish Association of Interior Architects, until 2021. In 2022, he was elected President-Elect of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) and currently serves as IFI President.

Petra Stephan

Director of AIT magazine

After a daily newspaper traineeship Petra Stephan studied Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Stuttgart. After architectural and editorial experiences in Stuttgart and Sevilla, she started at the architectural magazine AIT in 2000 - first as Head of Department, since 2013 as editor in chief. Under her leadership, AIT has received multiple international awards and has been recognized four times as the best German trade magazine in the architecture section. AIT is the most known German magazine for interior design and architecture located nearby Stuttgart and won in the past four times the prize for the best German trade magazine in the architecture section. In addition to her editorial work, Petra frequently serves as a juror for architecture and interior design competitions.

Martin Thörnblom

Interior Architect & CEO Studio Thörnblom, President ECIA

Martin Thörnblom is originally from Stockholm. He obtained his degree of Master of Arts in Interior architecture and furniture design at Konstfack. With the founding of studio thörnblom, büro für innenarchitektur in Vienna in 2003, Martin decided to follow a central credo in all his work: form follows function, meaning that the design should always adhere to the desires and requirements of each client. Martin has been Vice President of the Bund Östereichischer Innenarchitektur BÖIA and since 2010 he is also leading workshops at the New Design University NDU in St. Pölten, Austria. Martin is president of ECIA since September 2019.

Maurizio Favetta

Founder & Design Principal Kingsize Architects

Maurizio Favetta is an international architect and designer, based in Milan, Italy, deep thinking authority, innovation executive and advisor, leader for change, Maurizio has worked with leader brands, industries, private clients, and researchers to explore new and innovative trends in the development of public, commercial and residential spaces. Maurizio’s work focuses on disruptive innovation in style, applied cinematic vision to projects, advanced materials, virtual and fiction realities. He has helped companies like Swatch, Vodafone, Wind, Lavazza, Sector, Saudi Telecom, Cosmote Greece, Naima Group, to understand what’s coming in the future of retail; In hospitality have developed projects for JW Marriott and Rotana hotel chains, in aviation he worked for Saudi Arabian Airlines and collaborated with Agusta Westand on a new version of 138 and 189 Helicopters. In residential sector have worked mainly in middle east countries and South of France realizing residential complex and villas. Maurizio’s engage audiences with provocative and illuminating insights on how to prepare for–and thrive in–our rapidly changing landscape, and how technology and sustainability are changing the ways we live, work, and conduct business. An explorer of geographies and cultures, Maurizio is working splits between Italy and the countries were projects are running: Current projects are in France, Montecarlo, Spain, Croatia, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates. He is founder and leader figure in KINGSIZE Architects, a company that links business, cultural and industrial selective audience, to built smart design and lifestyle opportunities in non traditional and creative way.
