Emina Kovacic, new President of Swedish Architects

Architect SAR/MSA Emina Kovacic is the new President of Swedish Architects since the 1st of January 2021.

Emina Kovacic has been the city architect of Karlshamn for 13 years, and is educated at the Architecture school in Lund, LTH.

Emina Kovacic also has several assignments in various parts of the public construction sector. These include the Swedish National Heritage Board, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Blekinge County Commission for Equal Health, and she is an expert to the Land and Environmental Court in Växjö.

“The choice of Emina Kovacic is motivated by her broad and deep knowledge of the issues of Swedish Architects. As a city architect, she is used to discussing and pursuing architectural policy and she is passionate about creating inclusive conversations about our built environment in various contexts”, says architect SAR/MSA Ylva Åborg, chair of the nomination committee.
