ECIA Interior Award 2026: Celebrating Responsible Design Within Space

The European Council of Interior Architects is proud to present the ECIA Interior Award 2026, recognizing the most forward-looking projects in the field of interior architecture and design across Europe.

This edition focuses on Responsible Design Within Space—highlighting projects that go beyond technical requirements to create environments that are safe, inclusive, sustainable, resilient, and meaningful for the people who use them. The award celebrates interior architecture that responds to contemporary challenges through thoughtful spatial, social, environmental, and cultural solutions.

The competition is open to realized Residential and Commercial projects designed by members of ECIA member organizations. Projects will be evaluated using the Davos Quality System, assessing criteria such as functionality, environment, diversity, context, beauty, and the 2026 special focus on Safety Within Space

Shortlisted projects will gain visibility across ECIA's communication channels and be recognized for their contribution to advancing the profession and promoting high-quality European interior architecture. Up to 10 projects in each category will be shortlisted, with a professional jury selecting the top finalists.

We invite interior architects and designers across Europe to showcase how responsible design can foster trust, wellbeing, accessibility, belonging, and a better future for all.
