SIO 70 Years Jubileum

The Finnish Association of Interior Architects celebrates the SIO 70 years jubileum on May, 23 in Helsinki with a seminar 'Design Without Borders' – free flow of work and inspiration across national and mental borders and what we either gain or lose in the process. SIO is going to present an outstanding program to introduce following speakers:

PIA LITOKORPI - KUDOS DSIGN

Etablished in 2015, Kudos is a full service interior design studio working on interior projects of all levels around the world. Working from our studio in Turku, Finland, our portfolio includes successfully completed interior projects for Jumeirah Hotels, for the new Burj Al Arab Terrace, as well as Hotel With and Resorts World Bimini, amongst others. In addition we have a number of important new, and ongoing, marine interior projects for Crystal Cruises and Dream Cruises.

Combining functionality with aesthetics, we love details and have a passion for good design and beautiful materials. We like to work closely with our clients, to share their visions and ambitions – and collaborate as a design team to bring an imaginative concept into reality. In most cases exceeding everyone’s expectations.

KAORI PI - MOST COLLECTIVE / DURAT

Kaori is the co-founder of MOST Collective, together with husband Geert Decock. The creative duo conceived the DURAT PALACE collection. Kaori is a multi-disciplined creative, with a strong sense of purpose in focusing on sustainable solutions that are futureproof. She works on branding and strategic art direction for companies that have a vision for a more sustainable future. She also works for Greenpeace as a global strategic consultant, designing systems and methodologies to improve the global impact of their missions.Kaori Pi was born and raised as a third culture kid in Vancouver Canada. Having an international family base, she has lived and studied in England, Japan, Spain, France and Belgium and has settled in the Netherlands in 2012. Through structure and high standards, Kaori searches for the soul of an idea or a business and distils and transforms it into something pure and undeniable. She creates with heart and is a natural innovator.


Kaori offers a well rounded professional perspective, and often works from a non-conventional way due to her creative and multi-disciplined approach. She sets a high standard for the teams she leads and strives to challenge the impossible. Her main talents come from her ability to see and recognize complex patterns in the design and business world, and whether it is in numbers or colors, she likes to make them dance.

YRJÖ KUKKAPURO

Designer and interior architect Yrjö Kukkapuro was born 1933 in Vyborg, Finland. His career begun, when Finnish design started to rise to international fame in 1956. Kukkapuros open-minded and experimental designs established his place among the elite of international designers.

His chairs have received prizes and they are included in the collections of the leading design museums, such as MoMa of New York, Victoria and Albert Museum, London and Vitra Museum. Chair models as Ateljee, Remmi and glass fibre chair Karuselli. Junior 417 is included in the YRJÖ KUKKAPURO collection. Yrjö Kukkapuro is still active, working mainly with art projects and exhibitions.

TIM FLORIAN REUSCH

Tim Reusch sees designing work environments as a holistic project embracing space, time and human. He states that work space development and design is an effective management tool that brings together social requirements and organizational culture. His work today includes creating new workplace concepts, analysis of organization, communication and workflow in space, evaluation of space and office strategies, consulting and conceptual planning.

Tim Reusch is an architect, graduated from Technische Universität Dresden in 2009. During 2008-2012 he worked in two architectural offices and founded his own practice. Further on he has worked as a work space consultant for example at GRAEF, and since 2017 he has worked at Vitra.
